A tilted face rests against a deep green form, meeting the viewer with wide, reflective eyes. Warm strands of hair and red lips stand out against the textured green foreground, creating a close, quietly arresting encounter.
The steep diagonal composition gives the portrait its rhythm, moving from the eyes through the hair and into the broad field of color.
A print reproduction of original artwork by Jacob Bailey.
